Yes, You Can Still Have Pizza Night

Pizza is one of the first things women think they have to give up when they start focusing on protein, strength, and fat loss. It doesn't have to be.

This recipe swaps the usual white-flour, olive-oil-soaked crust for a simple 2-ingredient dough made from flour and Greek yogurt. No yeast, no rising time, no complicated technique. Top it with a light tomato sauce, low-fat mozzarella, turkey pepperoni, and fresh basil, and you've got a pizza that actually supports your goals instead of working against them.

Give it a try on your next pizza night, and let me know what toppings you swap in

Protein Pizza for Two

Protein-packed Greek yogurt crust, topped with a simple tomato-based sauce, low-fat mozzarella, turkey pepperoni, and fresh basil to split between 2 people.

Ingredients:

2/3 c flour

2/3 c plain Greek yogurt

1/2 tsp baking powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/2 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)

1/3 c tomato-based pizza sauce, no sugar added

3/4 c low-fat mozzarella, shredded

14 turkey pepperoni slices

6 fresh basil leaves, torn

Steps:

1- Mix the dough: Preheat oven to 425°F. Combine flour, baking powder, and salt in a bowl. Add Greek yogurt and mix until a dough forms.

2- Knead the dough: Knead on a lightly floured surface for 3 minutes until smooth.

3- Shape the crust: Roll or press into a 10-12 inch round on parchment paper, about 1/4 inch thick.

4- Pre-bake the crust: Bake the crust alone until it just starts to firm up and lightly golden at the edges.

5- Add toppings: Remove from oven. Spread 0.3 cups tomato-based pizza sauce, no sugar added evenly, then top with 0.8 cups low-fat mozzarella, shredded and 14 turkey pepperoni slices.

6- Bake with toppings: Bake until the cheese is melted, bubbly, and the crust edges are golden brown.

7- Top with basil and slice: Remove from oven and top with fresh 6 fresh basil leaves, torn immediately so it stays bright and doesn't wilt from prolonged heat. Rest 3 minutes, then slice into 2 servings.
